Ah, my first film. No matter what happens in the future, I'll always have a soft spot for this; my first attempt at a drama film. What are my memories of directing my first short? Pleasant ones, surprisingly. Nothing went disastrously wrong, it was a good team environment and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it.

One problem I had to figure out was how the hell was I going to stick money to a tree and make it look believable? Lots of people told me to print or photocopy money notes and no one would notice the difference but I wanted it to look as realistic as possible. So, throughout pre-production I withdrew £3000 of cash. The crew spent a good hour attaching £20 notes to the branches of the tress with clothes pegs. Insane, I know, but that's filmmaking for you. Thank God it wasn't a windy day!

When I look back on the film today, I'm still quite fond of it. Okay, it's got that student feel to it and the acting is a bit amateurish at times but it's not a bad little film. Gary Stevens does well as Harry the postman. Gary

is very good at physical acting and he was great to work with. I like the fact that there's not a lot of dialogue and there are some really neat shots in there as well. The story holds up and the pacing flows nicely.
