Identity, Reality, and finding Truth in a World of Chaos and Disorder. These are the main themes of 'The Illuminati'.

Albert Wilson is a man with a history that is so secret that even he doesn't know what he's been through. He is our narrator; right from the opening of the film where he has taken hostage of a phone store and is involved in a dramatic shoot out with the police that outnumber him.

Following Albert's arrest, he is interrogated by two detectives who are as desperate to uncover his past as he is. But Albert is an amnesiac and can only remember certain things; such as his imprisonment at the Mautilini Asylum. Albert's narration takes us back to his days at Ward D3 of the asylum, a Ward that is ruled by the sinister Doctor Jenkins who has an equally mysterious past. During his first few weeks there, Albert is subject to countless experiments, makes two allies in Harold and Elvis, and discovers that not everything is what it seems at Mautilini.

Albert is drugged half way through his confession by the detectives. They release him and monitor his activities; an encounter with a mysterious old Russian in a book store brings him a little closer to the truth. Everything that Kram tells him sounds strangely familiar to Albert, but he can't quite put the pieces together - how does it all this connect to Albert and his unknown past?

"There's no way I could have dreamt this up, right?"

Kram disappears and the detectives re-arrest Albert for further questioning. At the interrogation cell Albert makes more confessions of the weird goings on at the Mautilini Asylum. He only has one person he can trust in the whole asylum; Nurse Sophie Slater. She reminds Albert of a certain time and place in his life, as if the two have crossed paths before, Sophie feels this too, but how and why is a mystery to them both.

Albert's search for the truth leads us from one disturbing revelation to another. From here on in, the truth will out. People shall die. And the Illuminati shall reveal their true colours for all the world to see. Albert is forced to reconsider his perception of the world, and forced to choose between life and death.

When everything you have has been taken away, who are you going to trust?

A film about Theories. Not Conspiracies.
